Reid is the co-founder and Head of Operations of High Definition Vehicle Insurance, Inc. (HDVI), a next-generation insurance business focused on bringing more dynamic, real-time insurance to the transportation industry. Prior to co-founding HDVI, Reid was an investor at 8VC, a leading venture capital firm led by Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale. While at 8VC, Reid focused on investing in companies building next-generation platforms in the areas of supply chain & logistics, financial services & insurance, and transportation & mobility.

Reid’s education includes a BS in Symbolic Systems (‘14) and an MA in Philosophy (‘16), both from Stanford University. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Reid spent eight years in the Bay Area before moving to Chicago in 2018 to open the HDVI office there. Reid recently relocated again to open the HDVI office in Austin, TX. Reid grew up playing competitive tennis and now enjoys recreational play. He also enjoys skiing in the Rockies, traveling to warm locations, and continuing to read philosophy when time permits.
